The other day a post on Facebook caught my attention. It was Bonnie H. Cordon, General Young Women President for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and she was talking about Sister Michelle D. Craig’s Snickerdoodle Recipe. She was given permission to share her recipe. I was so excited with the recipe. I had heard the podcast that she referred to on Latter-day Saint Women a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it. For those who have not had a chance to listen to it, I highly recommend it.
Here is the recipe.
Snickerdoodles
1 1⁄2 cups sugar
1⁄2 cup butter
1⁄2 cup shortening
2 eggs
2 3⁄4 cups flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
Cream sugar with butter and shortening. Add eggs and then dry ingredients. Roll into balls, then in a mixture sugar and cinnamon. (About 4 tablespoons sugar and 4 teaspoons cinnamon)Press the balls of dough down just a bit, I use the bottom of a glass. Bake at 400 for 8-10 minutes.Enjoy!
